"In Motion..."

The Purpose of this blog is for me to do autobiographical writings about how I'm managing my life and things in it. I like to think this means I'm in motion....

I do photography professionally you can see some here

When I sell out
For a long time I told people who were amazed that I went to work for Microsoft, since I was such an apple/mac guy, "When I sell out I sell out all the way"

Seems I can also sell out twice...

I think this will be the last post to this particular blog. I'd like to point out that some of my favorite stories are here, and I won't delete them. Or the pictures of my various damaged digits. I've enjoyed writing this stuff and I've enjoyed the fact that you have read it. All the stuff is here in the archives, alas I have no search capacity, so you'll just have to dig for that gem. Remember that I claim none of it as being inspired or even worthy of your internet connection, but you are welcome to it just the same.

I'd like to take a sec and thank everyone who has ever read these and/or emailed me about them. It certainly made it worth it.

A friend recently said to me: "Run do not walk..."

I guess if you're running then you are always in motion... Just hope it's the right direction.

End of an era
I'm headed back to Microsoft. In fact I go and sign my offer letter today. I'm not sure if I'm gonna keep this blog... I might start a new one. If I do and you're on the microspam list you'll hear about it.

Maybe I'll just change the template. What do you think? email me.

How does an 8 year old know?
So I'm cruising through Fred Meyer with my 8 year old son. I know if you read this blog start to finish you think all I do is fucking shop. Its not true, I do lots of other stuff. We got some hot wheels cars for a birthday party he was going to at the bowling alley. Anyway after we were done with his shopping I wanted to look to see if they had "American Photographer" which is sometimes an ok magazine. I don't really subscribe to any magazines right now, but I try and buy a couple once in a while at the store.

We were looking for a copy of Seattle Bride which has a picture I took in it. I was going to buy a copy for a tear sheet, but they didn't have it. Next we saw "FLEX" it was with a guy on the front who my son said had to be "Mr. Flex". He did look like an add for steroids. He had been oiled and a rather soft highlight had been added to him to really make his cuts in his muscles stand out.

I asked my son if he wanted to look like that. He said NO. I said Why. He said "Because that's no way to earn a woman". I said "what?" he said "That's no way to earn a woman daddy..." I said "How do you earn a woman?"

His response: "Be yourself and be nice to them"

Needless to say I was floored.... Just chew on that for a second coming from an eight year old.

He then pointed at the lady in the corner of the magazine who was about to take her top off and said "That's Miss FLEX" and I moved him on down the aisle cause I really didn't want to have that conversation just yet...

A double burger
So I Interviewed with Microsoft last week to go back. I had a great day, it was just fun. I interviewed with two different groups and they both extended an offer. I don't have the $$'s yet, but its nice to get the offers. I get so happy I start to channel "Good Will Hunting" lines.

A double burger... lets get snacks! Retainer... Your situation would improve substantially... substantially... if I had two hundred dollars in this pocket here...
off to the races...
We went and watched a couple of friends at a mountain bike race. It was a blast. Took two rolls of film and my son (he's 8) was just jamming with the digital camera, he can pan with the pro's his shots were fantastic!

I'll have to post some. When my rolls get back I'll scan some and post them.
